Dyes

Dye transfer is a common interior mishap, typically caused by clothing. The usual offender – new blue jean fabric, contains fresh blue dyes that require several wash cycles to completely bleed out. As a result, sitting on an unprotected fabric, vinyl, or leather seat with a new pair of jeans will leave the vehicle’s upholstery surface (light or dark) susceptible to blue dye stains. Since most vehicle interior surfaces are absorbent, a dye stain, large or small, will start to absorb into the material the minute the contaminant comes into contact with the surface.
